Everything you need to know about staying with us in Lac du Bonnet.
Lac du Bonnet is approximately 115 km northeast of Winnipeg, which is about a 1 hour and 15 minute to 1 hour and 30 minute drive on Highway 59 North to Highway 44 East. The road is fully paved and well-maintained year-round. If you're coming from Winnipeg airport (YWG), add about 15 minutes.
We currently have three properties in various stages of completion. Wood Duck Lodge is our flagship cabin and is currently accepting bookings. Granite Sunset Retreat is 90% complete and will be open for guests this summer. Fairway Vista Lodge is a new build currently in progress, expected to open in spring 2028.
Wood Duck Lodge is a brand-new luxury cabin featuring 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and sleeps up to 15 guests. Amenities include a private hot tub, outdoor fire pit, full kitchen with modern appliances, WiFi, smart TV, BBQ, outdoor dining area, and premium linens throughout. The cabin features cedar timber beams, panoramic forest views, and high-end finishes. Everything is provided — towels, linens, cookware, dishes, and basic pantry staples.
Yes. The hot tub at Wood Duck Lodge is available year-round and is maintained at a comfortable temperature for your arrival. There's something uniquely special about soaking in a hot tub on a cold winter night, watching the steam rise into the sky — especially if the northern lights are out. We maintain the hot tub between every guest stay.
Please check the specific property listing on Airbnb for our current pet policy, as it may vary by property. We understand pets are family, and we do our best to accommodate them where possible. If you have questions about bringing a pet, reach out to us directly before booking.
Standard check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. This window allows us to thoroughly clean and prepare the cabin between guests. Early check-in or late check-out may be available depending on the booking schedule — just ask, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Currently, all bookings for Wood Duck Lodge are handled through our Airbnb listing. You can find the link on our Properties page or by clicking "Book Now" in the navigation. We're working on adding direct booking in the future. For group inquiries or special requests, contact us directly through our Contact page.
Yes, all of our cabins have WiFi available for guests. The connection is suitable for browsing, streaming, and staying connected. That said, we encourage you to disconnect and enjoy the lake country — you might be surprised how refreshing it is to put the phone down for a few days.
Lac du Bonnet is a four-season destination with an incredible range of activities. In summer: fishing, boating, kayaking, swimming, hiking, and golf. In winter: snowmobiling on hundreds of kilometres of groomed trails, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and fat biking. The town is also the gateway to both Whiteshell and Nopiming Provincial Parks. Visit our Things to Do section for detailed guides on every activity.
The properties are located near excellent fishing waters. Lac du Bonnet and the Winnipeg River system offer world-class walleye, northern pike, and smallmouth bass fishing. You'll need a valid Manitoba fishing licence, which you can purchase online through the Manitoba government website or at local vendors in town. We also recommend connecting with a local fishing guide — check our Partners page for recommendations.
Absolutely. Eastern Manitoba is one of the best snowmobiling regions in the province. The Whiteshell Snowmobile Association and local clubs maintain hundreds of kilometres of groomed trails that connect Lac du Bonnet to Whiteshell Provincial Park, Pinawa, and beyond. The season typically runs from December through March, depending on snow conditions. You can rent snowmobiles locally — see our Partners page.
We provide linens, towels, cookware, dishes, a BBQ, firewood, and basic essentials. You should bring your own food and drinks, personal items, and any specialized gear for your planned activities (fishing rods, hiking boots, etc.). In summer, bring swimsuits, sunscreen, and bug spray. In winter, bring warm layers, insulated boots, and a toque. All our cabins have full kitchens, so most guests prefer to grocery shop and cook at the cabin.
Wood Duck Lodge sleeps up to 15 guests across 4 bedrooms, making it ideal for family reunions, friend groups, and celebrations. For groups larger than 15, contact us directly to discuss options — as we add more properties, we'll be able to accommodate even larger groups across multiple cabins. We're also happy to help coordinate group activities, dining, and experiences through our local partners.
Yes. Cell coverage in the town of Lac du Bonnet is reliable on all major Canadian carriers (Bell, Telus, Rogers). Coverage may become spotty if you head deep into the provincial parks, particularly in Nopiming. Our cabins have WiFi, so you'll always have connectivity on the property.
Our cancellation policy is managed through Airbnb and is detailed on each property listing. We encourage you to review the specific terms when booking. For extenuating circumstances, we're reasonable people — reach out to us directly and we'll work with you.
Yes. All of our cabins are fully winterized and heated for year-round comfort. Wood Duck Lodge features modern heating systems that keep the cabin warm even during Manitoba's coldest months. The hot tub is also operational year-round. Winter stays are one of our favourite experiences — there's nothing like watching the snow fall through the trees from a warm cabin with a fire going.
Granite Sunset Retreat is currently 90% complete and is expected to open for bookings this summer. We'll announce the exact opening date and booking details on our Properties page and through our channels. If you'd like to be among the first to book, keep an eye on the Properties page or contact us to express your interest.
